Tele Psychiatrist | 1099 Contractor
Role Description:
We are seeking a Tele Psychiatrist to provide professional psychiatric care and treatment for individuals with mental or physical injuries, illnesses, dysfunctional behaviors, or developmental disabilities at the Regional Forensic Psychiatric Center. The psychiatrist will be responsible for providing high-quality care, diagnosing conditions, and implementing treatment plans in a telemedicine environment.
Key duties include:
Interviewing patients and reviewing their records.
Writing physician orders, progress notes, and other required documentation (discharge summaries, MA forms, SSI forms, etc.).
Consulting with other physicians, professionals, and the psychiatric treatment team.
Managing medication and providing direct treatment services.
Leading treatment team meetings and preparing assessments and reports.
Participating in court hearings and competency hearings as needed.
Engaging in ongoing performance improvement activities to ensure compliance with regulations.
Reviewing lab/test results and alerting staff of unusual circumstances.
The psychiatrist will be expected to serve as a member of critical medical staff committees and may be called upon to provide evaluations in county jails or community settings as needed. Work will be performed under the general direction of the Chief Medical Officer and governed by regulations from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Human Services, Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to communicate effectively, diagnose and interpret medical data, and adhere to policies and procedures. This role also involves reviewing clinical records for compliance, identifying training needs, and developing performance objectives for subordinate staff.
This is a part-time position, 8 hours a day, 2 days a week. Approx. 20 hours per week with flexible hours.
Minimum Qualifications:
Current, valid unrestricted license to practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, issued by the State Board of Medical Education and Licensure or the State Board of Osteopathic Examiners.
Board certification in Psychiatry.
Verification of current professional CPR certification.
DEA number (required).
Valid Medicare/Medicaid ID number (required).
Evidence of malpractice or applicable insurance.
Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
