Correctional Dentist | 1099 Contractor
Role Description:
We are seeking a skilled Correctional Dentist to provide comprehensive dental care in a correctional facility. The dentist will be responsible for the care, custody, and control of inmates receiving dental examinations, treatments, and complete dental care.
Key duties include performing a wide range of dental procedures, including endodontics, operative dentistry, Panorex radiographs, routine and surgical extractions, soft tissue impactions, and the fabrication of removable prostheses. The dentist will also oversee dental clinic operations, supervise nonprofessional staff, and coordinate on-site contractual dental services.
Additionally, the dentist is responsible for the security and inventory control of dental equipment, instruments, medications, and materials required for treatment. This includes regular checks and accountability throughout each workday.
The position requires independent performance with no direct professional supervision and includes other duties as assigned. Ideal candidates will have experience in a correctional setting and a commitment to providing high-quality care in a secure environment.
This is a Full-Time position, 5 days a week, 8 hours a day.
Minimum Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited school of dentistry.
Possession of a current license to practice dentistry, issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Dentistry.
Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office.
Ability to document dental treatment into the Department of Corrections' electronic health record system.
